Managing Printers in Office Tools

Just as font management in word processors can pose unique challenges, so too can printer handling. In most cases, office programs generate PostScript output and print using standard Linux printer queues; however, there are some exceptions to this rule, as well as quirks in setting up office tools to print. Some of these details are actually font issues, especially in configuring Ghostscript's fonts, as described in the earlier section, "Ghostscript Font Management." Some printer configuration details are different or more subtle than this, though. These issues relate to mapping printer queues to lists in office programs and selecting the correct printer model when the application gives you a choice.
