Cross-site scripting is one of the most critical and most common vulnerabilities found within web applications today. Cross-site scripting can be used to perform attacks ranging from defacing websites or compromising web application accounts, right through to transferring money out of Internet banking accounts, and even allowing an attacker to compromise your internal network, when combined with other vulnerabilities such as cross-site request forgery or anti-DNS pinning.
