Follow normal physical security procedures. Since RFID tags can only be read at short ranges, the primary preventative measure for this type of attack is to physically secure all areas where RFID tags are in use. Also, limit the data contained in the tags to only what is absolutely necessary. Make use of encryption, and encrypt anything that can be encrypted. Follow normal network security procedures. Information recovered from a tag could be used as part of a traditional network attack as well.
