In this chapter, you learned how to secure files and directories on your SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. First you read about the basic Linux permissions and the way they are applied. Next you read about all the extensions that have been made to the Linux permission system by means of the SUID, SGID, and sticky bit but also by means of ACLs and attributes. Finally, you learned how to apply a quota to your server to prevent users from filling up the file system completely. In the next chapter, you will learn about file system management.
