In this chapter, you learned how to use AppArmor for application security. You can use AppArmor to protect applications against programming faults within the application. Such errors could give root access to your system through a misbehaving application; if, however, the application is protected by an AppArmor profile, you can indicate exactly what the application is permitted to do and what it isn't permitted to do. AppArmor, therefore, is an important part of the overall security for your SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. In the next chapter, you'll learn how to use the Service Location Protocol to make locating services on your network easier.
